FIXING STUFF AROUND YOURSELF
While completing the course on “Leadership” from Amal Academy, we were given a project work of fixing stuff around ourselves so we might better understand about everyday leadership.
In this task we have to identify any thing or area around ourselves that need to be fixed and then we have to fix that.
For completing this activity I chose two places one was my bedroom and the other was my lounge.
I saw that the dining table in the lounge was some kind of messy, as the glasses and other stuff were lying on it in a random fashion, overall giving a bad view. So I arranged all the stuff on the table and removed the unwanted stuff such as laptop from the dining table. After completing this task I felt very comfortable as the dining table was looking very neat and clean. Picture of the dining table before and after is also attached below.
On the sofa in my bedroom I noticed that my washed clothes, handbag and some of my nephew’s toys were lying in a random fashion due to which there was no space left for anyone to sit there. So, I put my clothes and handbag in my cupboard and my nephew’s toys in his toys basket. After cleaning, the sofa looked clean and clear for anyone to sit easily.
I am a kind of lazy person and I would have done these tasks only if I was mentioned to do so by my mom or any other person in the house. But after taking the “Leadership” course I realized that even fixing a small stuff around yourselves can be an act of “Everyday Leadership”.
After completing these task I felt myself a “Leader” because a leader is an agent of positive change. Although I was not asked by anyone to do above mentioned task but I felt that something needed to be fixed and I fixed that without having any authority. I didn’t wait for someone to come and fix that, and this is called “Leadership”.
